Data provided by the user
Data you actively provide during the registration for our services or the use of our services – i.e. the creation of your user account – will only be collected and used in accordance with the contractual performance of the services you would like to use. Typically this is data like your frontname, lastname, email address, title and other information you provide during e.g. for a registration as a student.
Log files of the server
Upon access of our website our servers will automatically save data provided by your browser. Log files created from this data will contain information like your IP address, URL and landing page, time, type and number of requests, amount of transferred data, date, time and duration of individual accesses, type of browser and, if applicable, similar data. Collection and use of information saved within these log files will only serve anonymized evaluation for statistic purposes and consequently the improvement of our services.
ELC uses so-called cookies on its website. Cookies are small textual information saved on your computer. They allow faster navigation on our pages and to adjust them to your needs and interests. Furthermore they prevent abuse of our services.
Whenever you access our website again our server will be able to identify your computer which may save you the time for a new login for example.
In doing so ELC uses so-called session cookies which are deleted upon closing your browser as they only contain information necessary for a single visit of ELC.
In addition to session cookies we might also use so-called permanent cookies, where applicable. The latter allow to save your personal settings and filters for a longer period of time (depending on the actual service). This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysing service by Google Inc. („Google“). Google Analytics also uses so-calles cookies, text files that are saved on your computer and used to analyse your use of our homepage. The information saved within these cookies is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
we activate the IP anonymisation Google will shorten your IP address as far as you live in a member state of the European Union or a contractual partner of the European Economic area. Only in exceptional cases will Google transmit your entire IP address and shorten it in the USA. On behald of ELC Google will use the information to evaluate your use of our homepage, to create reports about website activity in general and to provide us with additional services regarding the use of websites and the internet.
Your transmitted IP address will not be connected to other Google data.
You can prevent the storage of cookies with respective browser settings. We would like to point out, though, that you may not be able to fully use all of our online features in this case.

You can register for our newsletter. In order to so you must enter your email address. You can contradict the future receipt of newsletters at any time by sending us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Conveyance of personal data to third parties
To process your data ELC cooperated with certain external service providers, i.e. in regard to IT hosting services. We ensure that all data transmission is executed according to valid data protection laws. If any of these providers is situated in a country outside the EU or EEA we will inform you in connection with the respective function. In case data processing is always based on valid law.
Data collection and processing resulting from the participation in raffles, recommandations, contests or competitions organised by ELC the respective conditions are applied.
If a third person registrates using your email address we would like to ask you to inform us about this fact and let us know whether you wish your profile be deleted or not.
